Members of the NUEYS branch’s in Northern Red Sea region, have conducted tour in the historic trenches in Nacfa and Afabet areas from 1to 4 of June.
Massawa, o9 June 2014 – Members of the NUEYS branch’s in Northern Red Sea region, have conducted tour in the historic trenches in Nacfa and Afabet areas from 1to 4 of June.
The youths visited trenches as well as underground houses in Ashorm and Nacfa, in addition to Denden Hill. They also watered trees in the environs of the Patriots Cemetery in Fidel-Pe area, besides watching a documentary film portraying the demise of Nadew Izz and libration of Nacfa town.
The visitors were accorded briefings by veteran fighters and inhabitants of the area as regards the challenging moments endured by freedom fighters in the trenches, as well as the steadfastness and dedication of Freedom fighters.
Lt. Colonel Fitwi Negasi gave briefings focusing on the strategic position of the trenches, meanings and derivations of their names, as well as the heroic feats registered by freedom fighters in the battle engagements.
The youths noted the vitality of such tour in connection with the process of nurturing cultural values, and expressed satisfaction with it.
