Reports indicated that research is being undertaking in the Southern region with a view to controlling pests that cause infection such as Bilharzias- a disease caused by lack of environmental hygiene.
Mendefera, 16 June 2014 – Reports indicated that research is being undertaking in the Southern region with a view to controlling pests that cause infection such as Bilharzias- a disease caused by lack of environmental hygiene.
Dr. Yemane Haile, Head of the Health Ministry’s branch in the region, said that the research is aimed at identifying spots in which pests thrive. He also explained that a total of 11 Laboratory Technicians are taking part in the program. Accordingly, research activities are being undertaking among children in which the signs of the infection could easily be detected.
Dr. Haile expressed appreciation for the health professionals and local administration bodies actively participating in the research program.
