Asmara, 18 June 2014 – A training course on child and mother wellbeing has been organized in Berikh sub-zone for a total of 70 village health workers.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mr. Mehari Hidad, head of the Health Ministry’s branch in the Central region, pointed out that the training would make significant impact as regards raising the community awareness regarding antenatal and postnatal care. He also called on the trainees to translate the knowledge they have acquired into practice.
Mr. Zedingil Gorgorios from the branch office said that the training is part of similar activities conducted in other sub-zones to promote community health. He also called on the village health workers to develop the knowledge through work experience.
The trainees on their part expressed satisfaction with the initiative and asserted readiness to serve with commitment.
