Prayer services were conducted today at St. Michael Church and Al-Khulafae Al-Rashideen Mosque, here in the capital, in connection with Martyrs Day.
Asmara, 19 June 2014 – Prayer services were conducted today at St. Michael Church and Al-Khulafae Al-Rashideen Mosque, here in the capital, in connection with Martyrs Day.
The prayer meeting at St. Michael Church witnessed participation of Abune Petros, Chairman of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church’s Synod in the Central region, Abune Mengisteab, Pope of the Eritrean Catholic Church, Mr. Zerit Tewoldebirhan, Managing Director of the Administration of the Central region, Mr. Semere Beyin, Head of Religious Affairs, and a number of priests, as well as thousands of members of the faithful.
Likewise, thousands of members of the Islamic Faith conducted prayer headed by the Eritrean Mufti, Sheikh Al-Amin Osman, at the Al-Khulafae Al-Rashideen Mosque. In a message he conveyed during the prayer service, Sheikh Al-Amin emphasized the need of nationals to extend support to families of fallen heroes and enhance participation in national development programs.
