The Minister of Local Government, Mr. Woldemichael Abraha, said that human resource development constitutes a vital prerequisite for economic progress.
Assab, 19 June 2014 – The Minister of Local Government, Mr. Woldemichael Abraha, said that human resource development constitutes a vital prerequisite for economic progress.
He made the remark at a meeting in the port city of Assab with Department Heads, sub-zonal Administrators and PFDJ Heads in the Southern Red Sea region, during which he noted the prevailing work enthusiasm among the Eritrean people as significant factor of the national development drive.
Mr. Woldemichael urged the participants of the meeting to do their level best to nurture work discipline among internees, in addition to focusing on proper placement. He further outlined the efforts being exerted by the Ministry with a view to meeting the demand for expertise in Regional and Sub-zonal administrations, and thereby promoting public service.
Likewise, the Administrator of the Southern Red Sea region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, called for the compiling of a 3-month report portraying the initiative and work relations among the employed youths in the region. He also expressed conviction that it would encourage training and career promotion.
The participants of the meeting voiced readiness to prove commitment in the respective positions they have assumed, and put forth views on some limitations in connection with deployment of manpower.
