Awards given to winners of general knowledge contests hosted by Hadas Eritra and Eritrea Al-Haditha newspapers

Awards have been given to winners of general knowledge contests hosted by Hadas Eritra and Eritrea Al-Haditha newspapers in connection with Independence Day.

Asmara, 27 June 2014 – Awards have been given to winners of general knowledge contests hosted by Hadas Eritra and Eritrea Al-Haditha newspapers in connection with Independence Day.

Speaking at the handing occasion at Hager Media Hall, Mr. Samson Haile, Editor Hadas Eritra newspaper, pointed out that the contest was aimed at adding color to the momentous event, besides inspiring enthusiasm on the part of the audience. He further disclosed that a total of 1,169 individuals took part in the contest, 122 of whom scored full marks, and that 10 awardees were selected randomly.

Accordingly, the first and second winners became beneficiaries of a 21-inch and 14-inch television sets respectively, while the third won a satellite dish decoder.

Other prizes were also conferred to the rest of the winners by Mr. Girmai Berhe, Director General of the Radio Department, and Mr. Rusom Fisehaye, Director of Administration of Finance in the Ministry of Information.
