Eritrean community members in Australia and New Zealand extend 22,000 Australian dollars honoring trust of martyrs
The Eritrean community members in Australia and New Zealand have extended a total of 22,000 Australian dollars honoring the trust of martyrs and in connection with Martyrs Day.
Asmara, 27 June 2014 – The Eritrean community members in Australia and New Zealand have extended a total of 22,000 Australian dollars honoring the trust of martyrs and in connection with Martyrs Day.
Reports indicated that commemorative events were conducted in the Australian cities of Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Coffs Harbor depicting the significance of the Day.
Meanwhile, similar activities were conducted in Auckland, Christ Church and Willington cities of New Zealand.
Speaking at the communal meeting in Melbourne city, Mr. Yasin Omar, Eritrean Consul General in Australia and New Zealand, said that Martyrs Day is an occasion when nationals should reiterate readiness to step up participation in national development programs on the basis of higher organization. He also expressed appreciation for nationals who made remarkable input in patronizing families of fallen heroes.
The participants of the event said that they would sustain backing families of martyrs.
Moreover, the Eritrean community members in Belgium conducted meeting in connection with the Day, during which Ms. Genet Negash, Head of Consular Affairs in the Eritrean Embassy in the country, voiced the community’s readiness to live up to the nation’s expectations.
