Central region: A total of 15 thousand students would take part in Students’ Summer Work Program

The head of Students’ Summer Work Program in the Education Ministry’s branch in the Central region, Mr. Abraham Berhe, indicated that a total of 15,000 students are expected to participate in the Students Summer Work Program which is due to be conducted from 8th of July to the 6th of August.

Asmara, 01 July 2014 – The head of Students’ Summer Work Program in the Education Ministry’s branch in the Central region, Mr. Abraham Berhe, indicated that a total of 15,000 students are expected to participate in the Students Summer Work Program which is due to be conducted from 8th of July to the 6th of August.

Accordingly, over 800 supervisors would participate in 39 stations in the course of the Program. He also noted the vitality of the program towards realization of the national development goals and nurturing work of culture among the students.

Mr. Abraham went on to state that the program is expected to comprise soil and water conservation, collecting tax for TV service, Traffic activities, renovation of schools blackboard and sensitization activities in Hospitals, among others.

The branch head further explained that the popular campaigns conducted by the communities, members of the People’s Army and members of other Ministries have significant impact towards facilitating the programs, besides the stakeholders are making necessary preparations to this end, especially the Public transport of the central region, the Education and Agriculture, as well as Health Ministries.

The Students’ Summer Work Program would be conducted for the 18th time in the region, according to the branch office.
