40th Anniversary of Bologna Festival concluded with patriotic zeal

The 40th Anniversary of Bologna Festival that was underway from 4 to 6 July concluded yesterday with patriotic zeal.

Asmara, 07 July 2014 – The 40th Anniversary of Bologna Festival that was underway from 4 to 6 July concluded yesterday with patriotic zeal.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Ambassador Zemede Tekle, Chairman of the event’s Coordinating Committee, said that the momentous event witnessed active participation of nationals and higher spirit of nationalism. He further indicated that it inspired not only the memories of those who took part in the Festival but also that of nationals who followed the ceremony through national media outlets.

Ambassador Zemede further expressed appreciation for those who made remarkable effort in organizing the event, and said that active participation of youths in the process attests to the fact that national values are being bequeathed to the young generation.

Upon taking part at the ceremony, the Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Eritrea congratulated the Eritrean people for organizing a successful commemorative event in the course of the Festival which is a token for the steadfastness nurtured during the armed struggle for independence.

Participants of the Festival who made outstanding contribution in organizing the event and those who won sports and literary contests received awards and certificates of merit.

The closing ceremony witnessed the staging of cultural performances by a cultural troupe from the Homeland.

Thousands of nationals and foreigners residing here in the nation and other countries took part in the Bologna Festival, according to reports.
