Training has been given to 200 students participating in traffic safety as part of the students’ Summer work Program(SWP).
Asmara, 13 July 2014- Training has been given to 200 students participating in traffic safety as part of the students’ Summer work Program(SWP).
In a speech they delivered during the concluding ceremony of the training, Lt/Colonel Taddese Berhane, Commissioner of Police Traffic in the Central region, and Lieutenant Yosief Berhane, head of Traffic accident investigation, said that the objective of the training has been to provide the participating students basic knowledge on traffic regulations, and called on the students to practically exercise on the ground the training they have been provided.
Mr. Estifanos Habtemariam, Chairman of the Traffic Safety Association, and Mr. Woldemicael Asmelash, Director of Lim’at High School, indicated the significance of the training at the time in which traffic accident is increasing, and called on the students to contribute their part in the effort to minimize traffic accidents.
The participants on their part said that they had no knowledge on traffic regulations in the past, and that with the training they received they would be able to contribute their share in minimizing traffic accidents and assist disabled citizens.
