6th Youth Festival concludes with patriotic zeal

The 6th Youth Festival which has been underway from the 18th to 20th of this month has concluded with patriotic zeal.

Sawa, 21 July 2014 – The 6th Youth Festival which has been underway from the 18th to 20th of this month has concluded with patriotic zeal.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Azazi Bereketeab, Chairman of the Festival’s coordinating committee, stated that the activities conducted were implemented in such a way that depicts the theme of the event, and that the seminars as well as other youth meetings targeted bequeathing of national values. He further lauded all those who made significant contribution in organizing the event.

The closing ceremony witnessed cultural performances, fashion show and a number of contests including oratory, debating, general knowledge and sports, among others.

The Central and Gash-Barka regions won the sports and cultural contests respectively, while Sawa region emerged outstanding in education-related contests. Cumulatively, the Central region ranked first and seized a 50-thousand Nakfa award.
