Hagaz Agriculture and Technical School striving to meet local demand

Brother Gebreyesus Habte ,Director of Hagaz Agriculture and Technical School, indicated that it is exerting commendable effort with a view to meeting local demand as regards  agricultural output on the basis of introducing new equipment and raising its internal capacity.

Hagaz, 25 July 2014 – Brother Gebreyesus Habte ,Director of Hagaz Agriculture and Technical School, indicated that it is exerting commendable effort with a view to meeting local demand as regards  agricultural output on the basis of introducing new equipment and raising its internal capacity.

In an interview he conducted with Erina, Brother Gebreyesus, stated that the mission of the school is to nurture dynamic students through equipping them with the required knowledge and skill, as well as providing quality agricultural production on the basis of conducting research activities. He also said that it is working on priority basis to develop human resource capacity.

Accordingly, the school is providing dairy and agricultural output through operating factories that produce wine and dairy products at fair price in the locality, in addition to fruits and vegetable products.

Mr. Awet Niguse, Manger of the Dairy Factory, stated that it is exerting commendable effort in a bid to meet local demand for dairy products, bedsides creating job opportunity to nationals in the locality.

Likewise, Mr. Daniel Okbamichael, Manager of the Wine Factory, pointed out that it is producing white and red wine, 75% of which is supplied to the market in Asmara.

Moreover, Ms. Hansu Kesete, a veterinary, disclosed that continuous follow-up is made so as to ensure the health condition of the cattle and their products.
