Mendefera, 26 July 2014 –The Education Ministry’s branch in Mendefera sub-zone indicated that the Students Summer Work Program (SWP) is registering good outcome.
Mr. Gerezgiher Tewolde, head of the branch office, pointed out that the participants are carrying out the task in school compounds and open sites. He also voiced appreciation for the active participation of the agriculture experts in the process.
Accordingly, over 500 students and teachers in collaboration with members of the Agriculture Ministry are taking part in the program. He noted the vitality of the undertaking vis-à-vis nurturing culture of work among the youth participants, in addition to the conservation of soil and water resources.
Likewise, Mr. Woldu Gebregergis, forestry and wildlife preservation expert, explained that previously planted tree seedlings are in good condition, and that around 450 thousand tree seedlings are due to be planted in schools and other areas.
