Over 200 thousand tree seedlings have been planted in Dubarwa sub-zone through the Students Summer Work Program (SWP).
Dubarwa, 28 July 2014 –Over 200 thousand tree seedlings have been planted in Dubarwa sub-zone through the Students Summer Work Program (SWP).
Ms. Liya Yohanes, land resource expert in the sub-zone, explained that the Program is aimed at enriching protected areas with a view to increasing the number of natural trees in the locality. She also pointed out that currently over 200 hectares have been put under cultivation so far within the SWP scheme.
Mr. Tsehaye Gebreamlak, Students supervisor, expressed appreciation for the active involvement of the participants in the undertakings.
The Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone stated that a total of 632 students and 35 teachers are participating in the program, in addition to four health workers.
