Inhabitants of Agordat sub-zone express readiness to sustain support to families of fallen heroes

The inhabitants of Agordat sub-zone have expressed readiness to sustain support to families of fallen heroes on the basis of rehabilitating them with livestock and in financial terms.

Agordat, 29 July 2014 – The inhabitants of Agordat sub-zone have expressed readiness to sustain support to families of fallen heroes on the basis of rehabilitating them with livestock and in financial terms.

They made the pledge in connection with the initiative they have been taking to rehabilitate a total of 68 children of martyrs with 10,000 Nakfa each. Moreover, the inhabitants have taken the initiative of patronizing martyr’s children for one to two years. Ms. Fatna Idris, head of social service in the sub-zone, stated that such support attests to the commitment of honoring the trust of martyrs. She further called on the community members to continue the praiseworthy initiative.

Mr. Idris Faid, Chairman of the patronizing committee for children of martyrs, explained that over 1.5 million Nakfa and 25 goats contributed by the inhabitants and entrepreneurs in the sub-zone have been extended to the beneficiaries. There are also  plans  to rehabilitate 8 children of martyrs  in the administrative areas with six goats each, he added.

Likewise, Mr. Teklebirhan Gebrewahid, Administrator of Agordat sub-zone, expressed appreciation for the initiative taken by the inhabitants, and called on the beneficiaries to strive to improve their livelihood taking the support as a steppingstone.
