Administrator of Southern region calls on farmers to exert further efforts in rain-fed farming

The Administrator of the Southern region, Mr. Efrem Gebrekristos, has called on farmers to exert further efforts in rain-fed farming with a view to ensuring bountiful harvest.

Areza, 30 July 2014 – The Administrator of the Southern region, Mr. Efrem Gebrekristos, has called on farmers to exert further efforts in rain-fed farming with a view to ensuring bountiful harvest.He made the call at a meeting with community representatives from Mai-Dima, during which he stated that the endeavors exerted towards ensuring food security have given rise to a gratifying outcome.

The regional Administrator further urged communities to further efforts in water conservation and application of crop rotation techniques, besides demonstrating higher sense of awareness pertaining to land use.

The participants of the meeting put forth views focusing on several issues.
