Students’ Summer Work Program in Central region concludes

Students’ Summer Work Program (SWP) in the Central region that has been conducted from 8 July to 7 August in 39 centers has been concluded, indicated Mr. Abraham Berhe, Coordinator of the program at the Education Ministry.

 

Asmara, 10 August 2014 – Students’ Summer Work Program (SWP) in the Central region that has been conducted from 8 July to 7 August in 39 centers has been concluded, indicated Mr. Abraham Berhe, Coordinator of the program at the Education Ministry.

He further said that the program in which 15 thousand students and 826 coordinators participated included building terraces, renovation of water catchment schemes, planting tree seedlings, participation in traffic safety programs as well as collecting TV taxes.

Mr. Abraham also indicated that during the one month work program 700 thousand meters of terraces have been build and 420 thousand tree seedlings planted, and called on the public to play due role for their protection.

Mr. Abraham explained that the commitment demonstrated by the students has been a vivid paradigm of the good cultural value of the society, and expressed appreciation for the hard work displayed by the coordinators and members of the Agriculture Ministry.
