National Eritrean Festival commences with programs showcasing cultural diversity and unity of the Eritrean people: visitors

The National Eritrean Festival which will be held until 23 of August under the theme “Culture: Guarantor of Existence and Continuity” commenced with vibrant programs including showcases depicting people’s standard of living, traditions and customs of the Eritrean ethnic groups, as well as variety of entertainment programs, according to visitors.

Asmara, 17 August 2014– The National Eritrean Festival which will be held until 23 of August under the theme “Culture: Guarantor of Existence and Continuity” commenced with vibrant programs including showcases depicting people’s standard of living, traditions and customs of the Eritrean ethnic groups, as well as variety of entertainment programs, according to visitors.

They also indicated that the annual festival which they eagerly await every year has been a platform in which they could experience the strong unity of the Eritrean people, customs and traditions of the people, and that it would play a significant role in transferring and conserving the good values of the society.

Mr. Dawit Mengisteab said that “a society that keeps its culture and values would always be proud”, and that the festival would be a unique national occasion in which Eritrea’s cultural diversity and unity of its people would be displayed.

Child Yosan Yonas and Youth Usama Ibrahim explained that the festival would be special occasion in which they could have all rounded knowledge about their country, and that they have been very impressed by the first day programs they observed at the Expo compound.

Mr. Ibrahim Abdsalla from Sudan and Ms. Yordanos Ibrahim on their part expressed their admiration of the programs, and called for presentation of more programs portraying the rich cultures and traditions of the Eritrean people.
