Training on community based rehabilitation provided to 69 village rehabilitation committee members in Keren

As part of its programs to expand community based rehabilitation of disabled citizens, the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare provided training in Keren for 69 village rehabilitation community members aimed at bringing about behavioral change of the society towards disabled citizens.

Keren, 17 August 2014– As part of its programs to expand community based rehabilitation of disabled citizens, the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare provided training in Keren for 69 village rehabilitation community members aimed at bringing about behavioral change of the society towards disabled citizens.

In a speech he conducted at the occasion, Mr. Girmai Bokretsion, Head of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare branch office in the region, indicated that the training program has been organized aimed at changing the existed negative attitude of the society with regard disabled citizens, and that this training program would have significant contribution towards that end.

Participants of the training program on their part explained that many disabled citizens have been marginalized due to the negative attitude of the society, and that the establishment of community based village rehabilitation committee would have significant contribution in avoiding discrimination of the disabled citizens and enable them become productive members of the society.
