The Festival of the Eritrean community members in Western USA was conducted with patriotic zeal and in a manner that bequeaths the nation’s cultural identity and values to the young generation.

Asmara, 19 August 2014 – The Festival of the Eritrean community members in Western USA was conducted with patriotic zeal and in a manner that bequeaths the nation’s cultural identity and values to the young generation.

The event which was conducted in the city of Oakland from 15 to 17 of this month witnessed the staging of sports activities, cultural performances and seminars focusing on the objective situation in the Homeland.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Girma Asmerom, Permanent Eritrean Ambassador to the UN, and Mr. Birhane Gebrehiwet, Charge d’Affaires of the Eritrean Embassy in the US, gave briefings focusing on the objective political, socio-economic and diplomatic situation in Eritrea, as well as pace of national development programs being implemented, in addition to the impact of regional and international developments.

Reports indicated that the Festival participants expressed readiness to resolve staunch resistance against external conspiracies on the basis of higher organization.
