Haikota, 05 September 2014 – The inhabitants of Haikota sub-zone said that the endeavors being made by the Health Ministry towards controlling communicable diseases in general and malaria in particular are registering encouraging outcome.
They indicated that community awareness is on the rise and that malaria infection has shown marked decline thanks to the promotional activities undertaken by health personnel. They also noted the significance of the spraying of anti-mosquito pesticides and the use of nets, as well as eliminating mosquito breeding spots.
Mr. Teklebirhan Teklezghi, in charge of follow-up of community health in the sub-zone, pointed out that in line with the services being rendered by health institutions, stepped-up efforts are being exerted with a view to raising public awareness as regards communicable diseases.
