The Administrator of Central region, Maj. General Romodan Awoliai, conducted on 6 September tour of inspection in Serejeka sub-zzone to assess this year’s harvest and the condition of the dams.
Asmara, 7 September 2014 – The Administrator of Central region, Maj. General Romodan Awoliai, conducted on 6 September tour of inspection in Serejeka sub-zzone to assess this year’s harvest and the condition of the dams.
In the course of his visit, the Administrator inspected the progress of agricultural activities on the part of different villages in the sub-zone and the amount of water the dams are holding, and called on the farmers to make due follow-up of their crops until harvest.
Mr. Yemane Abai, Head of economic development in the region, indicated that due to this year’s promising rain crops in the sub-zone are in good condition, and called on the farmers to immediately report in case of prevalence of pests.
He further stated that the old dams and the new constructed ones at Selae-Daero, Shumanigus Taahtai and Dirfo are holding enough water.
The residents of the sub-zone on their part expressed readiness to make due follow-up of their crops until harvest.
