National Cycling Team leaves for Spain to take part in World Championship competition

The Eritrean National Cycling Team today left for Spain to take part in the World Championship competition from 21 to 28 September

Asmara, 16 September 2014 – The Eritrean National Cycling Team today left for Spain to take part in the World Championship competition from 21 to 28 September. Present at the send off ceremony were heads of the Sports Commission and the Cycling Federation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Zemede Tekle, Sports Commissioner, expressed conviction that the athletes would register commendable success in the competition. He further voiced the Commission’s readiness to continue the necessary support thereof.

The Cycling team headed by coach Mussie Ashel comprises athletes Daniel Teklehaimanot, Natnael Birhane and Mekseb Debesai would compete in the senior level part, while Merhawi Kudus, Amanuel Gebre-egziabher, Aron Debretsion,  Meron Teshome and Metkel Eyob would compete in the Under- 23 part of the competition.
