Hagaz sub-zone: Call made on farmers to effectively utilize existing resources

The Administrator of Anseba region,  Mr. Ali Mahmud , has called on farmers in Hashishai, Golia, Shengen, Badof and Fana Administrative areas in  Hagaz sub-zone to effectively utilize the existing resources taking this year’s promising rainfall as a steppingstone.

Hagaz, 19 September 2014 – The Administrator of Anseba region,  Mr. Ali Mahmud , has called on farmers in Hashishai, Golia, Shengen, Badof and Fana Administrative areas in  Hagaz sub-zone to effectively utilize the existing resources taking this year’s promising rainfall as a steppingstone.  He made the call during an inspection tour of crop plantations and Hashferai dam in the sub-zone.

Noting the significance of the dam which has impounded ample water for cultivation purposes, the Administrator called on the local farmers to strive for improved livelihood through effective harnessing of such resources.

The farmers on their part stated that the agricultural activities below Hashferai dam are making due impact as regards meeting local market demand, and expressed readiness to practice prudent utilization of the water facility for more gratifying outcome.

Ms. Amna Haj, Administrator of the sub-zone, pointed out that the implementation of national development undertakings with the active participation of the public and members of the People’s Army are gaining momentum.
