Asmara, 24 September 2014- The annual festival of Eritrean community members in the city of Winnipeg, Canada, was conducted in a manner that depicted the prevailing societal harmony and resolve for mounting staunch resistance of the Eritrean people.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ahmed Imam, head of public and consular affairs in Canada, gave briefings focusing on the role of festival activities as regards preserving and bequeathing the nation’s values, as well as strengthening organizations.
He also called on the participants to mount staunch resistance against external conspiracies on the basis of higher organization, and expressed appreciation for the manner in which the festival was organized.
The event witnessed the staging of programs highlighting the culture and beliefs of the Eritrean people, effective organization of the communities and strong attachment with the Homeland, as well as messages of support from Canadian friends of Eritrea.
According to reports, performances by Hidri Cultural Troupe and veteran artistes added color to the Festival events.
