Inhabitants of Agordat sub-zone called upon to exert necessary follow-up of planted seedlings

Mr. Idris Adala, head of soil and water conservation in the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Agordat sub-zone, has called on the community members to exert the necessary follow-up of the tree seedlings planted through the Students Summer Work Program ( SWP) and public campaigns.

Asmara, 26 September 2014 – Mr. Idris Adala, head of soil and water conservation in the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in Agordat sub-zone, has called on the community members to exert the necessary follow-up of the tree seedlings planted through the Students Summer Work Program ( SWP) and public campaigns.

He also noted the significance of the plantation campaigns as regards land restoration and promoting forestry, and that over 2 thousand trees have been planted through the scheme.

Mr. Abdela Omar Keram, head of the Education Ministry branch in the sub-zone, stated that previously planted trees are making significant contribution towards promoting forestation in the area.
