Exerting joint endeavors described prerequisite in reinforcing educational activities in Gash-Barka region

Mohamed-Ali Ibrahim, head of the Education Ministry’s branch in Gash-Barka region, said that exerting joint endeavor is a prerequisite in reinforcing educational activities in the region. He also called on parents, teachers and government institutions to demonstrate active role in this regard.

Barentu, 30 September 2014 –Mohamed-Ali Ibrahim, head of the Education Ministry’s branch in Gash-Barka region, said that exerting joint endeavor is a prerequisite in reinforcing educational activities in the region. He also called on parents, teachers and government institutions to demonstrate active role in this regard.

Mr. Mohammed-Ali made the call at an assessment meeting in Barentu town in which school directors, supervisors and branch heads of the Ministry took part. He further indicated that the meeting is aimed at strengthening educational activities vis-à-vis distribution and quality through assessing all-round activities in the sub-zones of the region.

According to reports, a total of new 5elementary and 2 secondary schools have been opened, while 6 elementary schools have been upgraded to junior level. In this connection, 78% out of the total number of students in 2013/ 2014 scored passing mark.

Also speaking at the meeting, Mr. Omar Mohammed, Managing Director of the region, underlined the significance of the tripartite relations between parents, teachers and students towards strengthening educational activities.
