Southern region: Administrator conducts tour of inspection as regards select seed plantations in Dubarwa sub-zone
The Administrator of the Southern region Mr. Efrem Gebrekirstos, has conducted an inspection tour of crop plantations and the volume of water impounded in dams in Dubarwa sub-zone, in addition to select seeds being cultivated by exemplary farmers and the Agriculture Ministry in Adi-Watot and Halhale respectively.
Dubarwa, 30 September 2014 – The Administrator of the Southern region Mr. Efrem Gebrekirstos, has conducted an inspection tour of crop plantations and the volume of water impounded in dams in Dubarwa sub-zone, in addition to select seeds being cultivated by exemplary farmers and the Agriculture Ministry in Adi-Watot and Halhale respectively.
In the course of the tour of inspection, the Administrator received briefings by agricultural experts concerning the select seeds cultivated on16 hectares.
Mr. Kaliab Beraki, in charge of follow-up of the project, stated that the agricultural activities are aimed at preserving and reproducing the nation’s indigenous crops, and thereby distribute them to the farming community for more gratifying outcome.
Mr. Efrem further inspected the agricultural activities and grazing areas in a number of villages and called on the farmers to exert the necessary follow-up until harvest.
