National Conference on Education for All underway in Keren

A National Conference on Education for All opened in Keren city today. Regional Administrators and Managing directors, PFDJ and national associations heads, as well as branch heads of the Education Ministry and teachers are participating in the conference.

Keren, 02 October 2014 – A National Conference on Education for All opened in Keren city today. Regional Administrators and Managing directors, PFDJ and national associations heads, as well as branch heads of the Education Ministry and teachers are participating in the conference.

Speaking at the opening session, Mr. Semere Russom, Minister of Education, explained that the nation has registered satisfactory accomplishment over the past two years regarding the implementation of programs mapped out to promote Education for All.  He pointed out that the current conference is aimed at assessing the tasks accomplished in the realization of the “Education for All” motto over the past ten years on the part of various countries. The Minister noted that Eritrea has registered encouraging achievements to that end since independence. In this regard, Mr. Semere said that the construction of schools, higher student participation, professional competence of teachers and providing modern teaching facilities are among the programs put into effect.

Also speaking on the occasion, the Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Ali Mahmud, stated that the conference is expected to map out the necessary strategy to enhance the accomplishments registered nationwide to-date to promote educational opportunities for all citizens.
