Community awareness regarding education on the rise thanks to the extensive educational opportunity: Report
In an interview he conducted with Erina, Mr. Hagos Adhana, head of the Education Ministry’s branch in Anseba region, indicated that the community awareness regarding education is on the rise thanks to the extensive educational opportunity made available in urban and remote areas, coupled with the substantial government investment to promote equitable educational opportunity to nationals.
Keren, 10 October 2014 – In an interview he conducted with Erina, Mr. Hagos Adhana, head of the Education Ministry’s branch in Anseba region, indicated that the community awareness regarding education is on the rise thanks to the extensive educational opportunity made available in urban and remote areas, coupled with the substantial government investment to promote equitable educational opportunity to nationals.
Accordingly, over 24 new schools have opened over the past 3-years, thus giving impetus to increased student participation in general and that of females in particular.
Mr. Hagos also indicated that this year’s students participation increased by over 6%, and a total of 321 schools for adult education program, 77% of which are providing service remote areas of the region. In this regard, schools for the Deaf and mentally affected individual are providing commendable services.
According to reports, a total of 250 schools are providing service to more than 92 thousand students in Bilen, Tigre, Tigrigna, Hidareb and Arabic languages in the region.
