Asmara, 11 October 2014 – A call has been made on communities to enhance active role towards maintaining the achievement registered as regards prevention of new HIV/AIDS infection. It made the call at a seminar conducted to members of the Police Force and citizens at rehabilitation center.
Dr. Tesfai Solomon, head of the Health Ministry’s branch in the Central region, pointed out that the Ministry is exerting persistent endeavors to attain the set goal, and that thanks to the continued promotional activities; community awareness is on the rise as regards health issues.
Also speaking at the seminar, Mr. Mehari Woldemichael, head of HIV/AIDS control at the branch office, gave briefings focusing on the background of the disease vis-à-vis instances of infection and its consequences. He called on institutions and parents to practice open discussion regarding AIDS and make good use of the available health facilities.
