Mendefera Rehabilitation Centre secures sports equipments in donation

Mendefera Rehabilitation Centre has secured sports equipments in donation from the Southern region’s Sport Commission.

Mendefera, 25 October 2014 –Mendefera Rehabilitation Centre has secured sports equipments in donation from the Southern region’s Sport Commission. The donation comprises a total of 140 balls for football, volleyball and basketball, as well as badminton and table tennis for the benefit of nationals undergoing rehabilitation.

Mr. Franco Kubaba, director general of social service in the region, noted the significance of the donated items towards strengthening the development of sports activities at the Rehabilitation Centre.

Likewise, Mr. Negasi Tesfagabir, Sports Commissioner in the region, pointed out that the support is a continuation of similar initiatives taken in collaboration with stakeholders with a view to reinforcing the activities of the Centre.

Cap. Ogbai Gebregziabher, head of the Centre, expressed appreciation for the initiative taken by the Sports Commission, and called on fellow institutions to emulate such a gesture.
