Seminar conducted in Sothern Red Sea region towards raising public awareness pertaining to Rota virus

A seminar has been conducted in the port city of Assab view a view to raising public awareness as regards Rota virus in which heads of government institutions in the city Assembly members, Area administrators, religious leaders and community elders took part.

Assab, 31 October 2014 – A seminar has been conducted in the port city of Assab view a view to raising public awareness as regards Rota virus in which heads of government institutions in the city Assembly members, Area administrators, religious leaders and community elders took part.

Mr. Asefaw Gebremichael, head of the Health Ministry’s branch in the region, stated that 8 types of vaccination have been provided to mothers and children, and that the branch office is making the required preparations to provide immunization service targeting Rota virus.

Likewise, Mr. Biniam Fisehatsion, head of parental and communal health at the Health Ministry’s branch in the region, gave briefings regarding the virus and preventive measures.

In closing remarks, Mr. Hummed Sur Ali, director general of social service in the region, noted the significance of the seminar towards raising awareness pertaining to Rota virus, and called for higher input towards combating it on the basis of timely vaccination of children.
