Training course organized to fishermen in Southern Red Sea region

A training course has been organized to about 30 fishermen from different parts of the Southern Red Sea region regarding effective fishing activities. The course aims at raising the capacity of the fishermen to make available up to standard fish supply to market.

Asmara, 01 November 2014 – A training course has been organized to about 30 fishermen from different parts of the Southern Red Sea region regarding effective fishing activities. The course aims at raising the capacity of the fishermen to make available up to standard fish supply to market.

Mr. Zewoldi Haile, head of training and human resource management at the Ministry of Fishers, explained that efforts are being exerted to promote fishery production as part of national undertaking towards ensuring food security.

Reports indicated that in recent months training program was organized in Tio semi-urban centre for about 30 females engaged in fishing activities as regards preparing fishing nets.
