Farmers in Mendefera sub-zone expect bumper harvest

Farmers in Mendefera sub-zone said that they are expecting bumper harvest thanks to this year’s evenly distributed ample rainfall, coupled with sustained follow-up, soil and water conservation activities they carried out on time.

Mendefera, 03 November 2014 –Farmers in Mendefera sub-zone said that they are expecting bumper harvest thanks to this year’s evenly distributed ample rainfall, coupled with sustained follow-up, soil and water conservation activities they carried out on time.

Mr. Eyasu Asefaw, head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone, explained that a total of 13, 421 hectares were put under cultivation out of 16, 391 hectares.

Mr. Abraham Hagos, Administrator of the sub-zone, said that there prevails the required community awareness as regards soil and water conservation activities in the area.
