Synchronal run staged here in connection with 25th anniversary of Fall of Berlin Wall

A synchronal run was yesterday staged here in the capital in connection with the 25th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall.

Asmara, 10 November 2014 – A synchronal run was yesterday staged here in the capital in connection with the 25th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. The event was jointly organized by the German Embassy in Asmara and the Eritrean Sports Commission.

Ministers and other government officials, diplomats accredited to Eritrea and members of the sports community took part in the run from Shida area to Bahti-Meskerem Square.

In remarks he made on the occasion, Mr. Bernhard Dresbach, Deputy Head of the German Embassy, stated that the fall of the Berlin Wall symbolized the end of the Cold War. He further pointed out that the united Germany is promoting the policy of peaceful relations among states on the basis of an independent choice.
