Asmara, 11 November 2014 – The NUEW branch members in the Dutch city of Amsterdam have asserted readiness to enhance role towards the realization of the Union’s set goals on the basis of higher organization. They made the pledge in connection with the 35th anniversary of the founding of the National Union of Eritrean Women (NUEW).
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Alem Tewolde, head of the branch, noted the vital role that Eritrean women played in the armed struggle for independence and expressed conviction that youth members of the Union would fulfill their responsibilities in a spirit of dedication.
Likewise, Mr. Solomon Mehari, Consul in the Netherlands, highlighted the paramount role Eritrean women played in the liberation struggle.
Reports indicated that the NUEW founding anniversary activities in that country witnessed the staging of cultural performances by cultural troupes from the Homeland and Holland.
