The Ministry of Fisheries has organized a training course in the port city of Massawa for traditional fishermen so as to provide quality fish supply to the market.
Massawa, 22 November 2014 – The Ministry of Fisheries has organized a training course in the port city of Massawa for traditional fishermen so as to provide quality fish supply to the market.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mr. Tewolde Kelati, Minister of Fisheries, said that the training would make due contribution towards improving the livelihood of the trainees, and called on them to raise awareness through translating the skill and knowledge they had acquired into practice.
Likewise, Mr. Zewoldi Haile, head of human resources development and training branch at the Ministry, urged the group to strive for higher output taking the training as a stepping stone. He also pointed out that similar programs would be organized in the future.
A representatives of the trainees stated that the undertaking dealt with proper handling of fish and ensuring security of marine resources through their effective harnessing, among others.
The Minister handed certificate to the graduates.
