A total of 20 bread winner women who have been attending a 6-month training course in weaving at the newly constructed Women’s Centre in Senafe town graduated on November 23.
Asmara, 26 November 2014- A total of 20 bread winner women who have been attending a 6-month training course in weaving at the newly constructed Women’s Centre in Senafe town graduated on November 23.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Ms. Afrah Ali, head of the NUEW branch, said that the training is part of the endeavors being made with a view to improving women’s livelihood through organizing similar courses. She also stated that around 90 women have become beneficiaries of training in weaving and the like.
Commending the active enthusiasm demonstrated by the trainees in the process, she called on them to develop the career through work experience and strive to lead improved living style.
Likewise, Ms. Aberash Habtai, head of the NUEW branch in the Southern region, expressed conviction that the group would improve their livelihood taking the training and credit opportunity as a steppingstone.
In the same vein, Mr. Kiros Gebrenariam, head of finance and administration in the sub-zone, expressed the readiness of the sub-zonal administration and the NUEYS branch to sustain collaboration in their activities.
A representative of the trainees voiced appreciation for the Eritrean women residing in North America for putting in place the Women’s Centre.
