A seminar was organized for a total of 90 newly elected Area administrators in Gala-Nefhi, Berikh and Serejeka sub-zones regarding management tasks at the Central region’s Administration Hall.
Asmara, 03 December 2014 – A seminar was organized for a total of 90 newly elected Area administrators in Gala-Nefhi, Berikh and Serejeka sub-zones regarding management tasks at the Central region’s Administration Hall.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Tesfai Gebreselasie, Minister of Land, Water and Environment, gave briefings focusing on land management undertakings and prudent utilization of water resource and related issues. He further explained that the Government is exerting the necessary effort towards effectively implementing the proclamation on land distribution.
Likewise, Mr. Yohanes Gebreab, head of Administration and Finance at the Ministry of Local Government, outlined the principles of office, general affairs and public management. Moreover, explanations were given by pertinent bodies as regards structure of village and Area administration, mandate and role of local Administrators and financial matters, among others.
In closing remarks, Maj. General Ramadan Osman Awliyai, Administrator of the Central region, underlined the significance of the seminar and called on the seminar participants to translate the guidelines outlined thereof into practice and thus live up to expectations.
Certificates and monetary motivational gestures were handed on the occasion to the outgoing Administrators who fulfilled their duties with dedication over the past 5 years in Berikh, Gala-Nefhi and Serejeka sub-zones.
