The National Union of Eritrean Women’s branch in Gash-Barka region has provided credit to a total of 200 members in Agordat sub-zone so as to assist them improves their livelihood.
Agordat, 03 December 2014 – The National Union of Eritrean Women’s branch in Gash-Barka region has provided credit to a total of 200 members in Agordat sub-zone so as to assist them improves their livelihood.
Ms. Afeit Saleh, head of the branch office in Agordat sub-zone, indicated that the beneficiaries are from Agordat town, Engerne and Aderde areas, and that the credit is aimed at improving their livelihood. She further called on them to strive for improved living style taking the credit as a steppingstone.
Mesfin Fikadu, Coordinator of the Micro-credit and Saving Program at the NUEW regional branch office, pointed out that the initiative is part of the Union’s endeavors towards improving community livelihood in general and that of women in particular. He also explained that the credit scheme involves three stages and that the sum ranges from 5 to 10 thousand Nakfa.
