Discussion conducted as regards implementation of Water Proclamation in Central region

Discussion has been conducted in Asmara city regarding the implementation of the Water Proclamation by the Ministry of Land, Water and Environment in which department heads of the various Ministries, sub-zonal Administrators  of the Central region and other institutions took part.

Asmara, 06 December 2014 – Discussion has been conducted in Asmara city regarding the implementation of the Water Proclamation by the Ministry of Land, Water and Environment in which department heads of the various Ministries, sub-zonal Administrators  of the Central region and other institutions took part.

In opening remarks, the Administrator of the Central region, Maj. General Ramadan Osman Awaliyai, underlined the significance of paying due attention to the task of ensuring effective and sustainable administration as regards water resources. He further emphasized the need for coordinated endeavors towards the effective implementation of the Proclamation issued by the pertinent Ministry to this end.

Mr. Eyasu Mebrahtu, Director General of Water Resource Department in the Ministry of Land, Water and Environment, explained on his part that the Government is working on priority basis towards ensuring effective water supply to all sectors.
