Minister of Local Government conducts inspection tour of development activities
Mr. Woldenkiel Abraha, Minister of Local Government, conducted an inspection tour of development activities in the Northern Red Sea region from 9 to 12 of December.
Massawa, 15 December 2014 – Mr. Woldenkiel Abraha, Minister of Local Government, conducted an inspection tour of
development activities in the Northern Red Sea region from 9 to 12 of December.
The Minister along with Mr. Arefaine Berhe, Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Tewolde Kelati, Minister of Fisheries, and Ms. Tsegereda Woldegergis, Administrator of Northern Red Sea region, visited development projects in Sheib, Afabet, Nakfa, Kirora, Massawa and Foro sub-zones respectively, addition to holding meetings with community representatives and religious leaders.
During the tour, Mr. Arefaine Berhe called on the inhabitants to resort to guidelines of the Ministry of Agriculture so as to register higher output, and sustain input in water conservation activities along with agriculture experts.
Likewise, Ms. Tsegereda outlined the achievements registered in the agricultural sector attests to the active participation of the community. The inhabitants of the region on their part asserted that they would live up to expectations in the nation-building process.
The Minister of Local Government gave assurance that the Government would give due attention to the requests they put forward stage by stage.
