Information Ministry exerting stepped-up efforts focusing on promoting influential and competitive media

At an assessment meeting conducted today, the Ministry of Information indicated that it is exerting stepped-up endeavors towards promoting an influential and competitive media on the basis of modern technological and expertise in terms of both coverage and expansion.

Asmara, 26 December 2014 – At an assessment meeting conducted today, the Ministry of Information indicated that it is exerting stepped-up endeavors towards promoting an influential and competitive media on the basis of modern technological and expertise in terms of both coverage and expansion.

During the assessment meeting, it was stressed that the necessary activities would be undertaken in 2015 as regards reinforcing media activities mainly through upgrading professional competence and facilities aimed at raising the awareness of citizens in the political, economic and social domains, as well as programs covering educational, informative and entertainment spheres.

In line with the objective of broadening media coverage inside the country and abroad, particularly those where Eritrean nationals reside, the pertinent strategy has gained ground as regards coverage through radio, print and TV.

The participants of the meeting conducted discussion on the reports presented by the Ministry’s Department and Branch heads and put forth views.
