Southern region: encouraging outcome registered regarding public participation in development endeavors

Mr. Tesfai Berhane, head of political affairs in the PFDJ branch in the Sothern region, stated that encouraging accomplishments were registered in the domain of  enhancing political and organizational capacity, and thereby step up active participation of the public in development endeavors.

Mendefera, 02 January 2015 – Mr. Tesfai Berhane, head of political affairs in the PFDJ branch in the Sothern region, stated that encouraging accomplishments were registered in the domain of  enhancing political and organizational capacity, and thereby step up active participation of the public in development endeavors.

He made the remarks at an assessment meeting of the branch office conducted recently, during which Mr. Tesfai pointed out that satisfactory outcome has been registered in the implementation of set programs in 2014.

Likewise, Ms. Salha Adem, head of organizational affairs of the PFDJ branch in the region, said that vigorous efforts were made towards ensuring food security through soil and water conservation activities, as well as renovation of dirt roads and the like.

She also explained that support has been extended to more than 3,000 families of fallen heroes and needy farmers in the form of collecting harvest and residence repair. The participants of the meeting exchanged views on a number of issues and put forth views.

In closing remarks, the Administrator of Southern region, Mr. Efrem Genrekirstos, noted the vitality of competent cadres in strengthening development programs and stressed the need for exerting stepped-up efforts to this end.
