NUEYS branch in Gash-Barka region exerting stepped-up efforts to enhance youth role in development endeavors

The National Union of Eritrean Youths and Students (NUEYS) branch in Gash-Barka region indicated that it is exerting stepped-up efforts to enhance the role of youths in development endeavors.

Agordat, 03 January 2014 – The National Union of Eritrean Youths and Students (NUEYS) branch in Gash-Barka region indicated that it is exerting stepped-up efforts to enhance the role of youths in development endeavors. This was disclosed at an assessment meeting of the branch office conducted recently in Agordat city.

Mr. Gide Soqar, head of the NUEYS branch in the region, stated that a number of accomplishments were realized last year aimed at raising awareness and organizational capacity of the youth. He also explained that visits were made so as to enhance relations between the youth in the region and Sudanese counterparts in Kessala region.

Mr. Rezene Adonai, the PFDJ Secretary, and Mr. Bereket Tekeste, head of culture and heritage in the region, respectively on their part expressed readiness to provide the necessary support towards realizing the set goals of the NUEYS branch.

In closing remarks, Mr. Okbai Berhe, head of the NUEYS Central office, noted the significance of active youth role for the realization of set goals, and called on partners and pertinent bodies to sustain input to this end.
