Barentu, 04 January 2015- At an assessment meeting they conducted in Barentu the Eritrean War Disabled Veterans Association Gash Barka region branch explained that it is mounting efforts to develop capacity of members and enable them become self supporting.
According to the report presented the association is giving priority to strengthening organization, activate and reinforce office activities at all levels, conduct awareness raising programs, design different projects for rehabilitation of members, as well as increasing income of the association and organizing different training programs.
Mr. Shumendi Woldegergis, head of the regional office, noted that the activities of the year 2014 with regards improving the living standard of members, as well as paying back loans and follow up issues of women members of the association has been encouraging.
He further explained that most of the programs of the year 2014 have been implemented, and called on stakeholders to reinforce participation for the implementation of the programs of 2015.
Mr. Abraham Kifletsion, head of organization and information at the EWDVA central office, said that the national association would stand alongside the branch office in all its endeavors.
The participants on their part called for reinforcing awareness raising activities and stakeholders to play due role in the implementation of programs.
