Serejeka sub-zone: Farmers called upon to exert stepped-up effort in implementation of development programs
Mr. Tesfu Fisehatsion, Administrator of Serejeka sub-zone, has called on farmers to exert stepped-up effort towards the implementation of development programs drawn up for this year.
Serejeka, 05 January 2014 –Mr. Tesfu Fisehatsion, Administrator of Serejeka sub-zone, has called on farmers to exert stepped-up effort towards the implementation of development programs drawn up for this year. He made the call at a meeting with Area administrators and representatives of the public.
He pointed out that wide-ranging soil and water conservation activities have been conducted in a total of 26 villages and that more than 389 thousand tree seedlings were planted on 19 thousand hectares in 2014, besides the repairing of dirt roads. In this connection, satisfactory outcome has been witnessed in crop, milk and honey production, he added.
Mr. Tesfu also explained that potable water supply projects are under construction in three villages, and that 18 dams have impounded ample volume of water.
The participants of the meeting conducted discussion on a number of issues.
