Ongoing development programs in Molqi sub-zone making significant contribution in improving community livelihood
Mr. Zerai Berhe, Administrator of Molqi sub-zone, stated that the ongoing development programs on the basis of active popular participation are making significant contribution towards improving the livelihood of the community.
Molqi, 09 January 2014 – Mr. Zerai Berhe, Administrator of Molqi sub-zone, stated that the ongoing development programs on the basis of active popular participation are making significant contribution towards improving the livelihood of the community.
He also pointed out that thanks to the active community participation in soil and water conservation undertakings, coupled with the promising rainfall in 2014, farmers in the area have obtained abundant harvest.
Moreover, he said that a water pond that was put in place in Geza-Kelati Administrative area at a total expenditure of 1.5 million Nakfa has impounded ample water. A micro-dam is also under construction in Afentera Administrative area at a cost of 9-million Nakfa, he added.
The inhabitants of the sub-zone have put forth views on a number of topics pertaining to transport and communication service, and the putting in place of similar social service facilities.
