Brig. General Gebrehiwet Zemichael passes away

Veteran fighter Brig. General Gebrehiwet Zemichael (Wedi-Liqe) passed away on January 14 at the age of 59 due to sudden illness.

Asmara, 15 January 2015 – Veteran fighter Brig. General Gebrehiwet Zemichael (Wedi-Liqe) passed away on January 14 at the age of 59 due to sudden illness.

The late Brig. General Gebrehiwet joined the popular liberation forces in 1973 and served in various capacities both before independence and after the attainment of Eritrea’s total liberation.

The veteran fighter is married and father of three.

Expressing deep sorrow over the passing away of Brig. General Gebrehiwet Zemichael (Wedi-Liqe), the Ministry of Defense conveys condolence to the bereaved family of the veteran fighter. The Ministry further indicated that the funeral service of Brig. General Gebrehiwet would be announced through the national media outlets.
